The essential PHP session cookie protects forms and admin sign-in; it lasts for the browser session, with server-side expiry. A language cookie remembers your last language for 30 days. Neither is used for advertising.
Your consent choice is stored in this browser for up to 365 days. The optional random analytics identifier rotates every month and is removed when you reject analytics. A choice is per browser—not magically shared across devices. Clearing storage, switching browsers or expiry shows the notice again.
Optional analytics
Only after you opt in, we record the page, language, device category, country when available, referral domain and page-loading measurements. A random browser identifier is hashed on the server and rotates monthly. No raw IP address or precise location is stored in visitor statistics, and we do not fingerprint your device.
External services
The OpenStreetMap village map and YouTube videos contact their providers only when you allow external content or approve a one-time load. Their privacy policies then apply. Google Maps reviews and directions, Booking.com, Airbnb and other websites are external links. Weather is fetched by our server from MET Norway; your browser and IP are not sent to the weather provider.
